3D printing access is for patrons of the Sachem Public Library with cards in good standing. All file submissions must be in STL or OBJ format and conform to the guidelines in the Studio Makerspace Policy. Submissions shall be reviewed and approved by Studio staff prior to printing. Submissions are completed in the order they were received. Although many submissions are completed within a two week span, this is may change depending on our queue and the particular scope of the project. Submissions cannot be guaranteed by a certain date. Our 3D Printers
Prusa i3-MK3S+/MK4S
With multiple MK3/4 printers used everyday in the Studio, they are known for their speed, reliability, upgradability and support. The Prusa MK3/MK4 is able to print objects up to 8x8x8″. The Studio has a large selection of PLA filament to choose from. These printers support multicolor printing with the MMU2/3 unit.
Fees: 5¢ per gram
Bambu Labs P1P/ X1 Carbon
The Bambu Labs brand printers offer a more budget friendly alternative to the Prusa MK4/XL, with a large bed size at 10″x10″x10″ and it retains very high speeds thanks to its Core XY design, there are a number of beginner-friendly features to make printing easy. These printers support multicolor printing with the AMS unit.
Fees: 5¢ per gram
Prusa XL
The bigger brother of the MK4, this oversize printer can accommodate parts as large as 13.8″x13.8″x13.8″, it can do everything the MK4 is capable of, but also allows for cosplay helmets, or all sorts of other large items to be printed. Thanks to the 5 print-head design, completing multicolor prints is very fast and accurate. This printer excels with large and/or multicolor prints.
